Dental insurance coverage gives you an advantage in maintaining good dental health for life. In addition to our own plans, we accept most traditional indemnity insurance, as well as Denti-Cal. INDEMNITY
PLANS
Traditional insurance where a third party - an insurance company or administrator - provides service payment to your provider for a monthly premium paid by you or your employer. Any provider accepting the insurance can provide services. Normally, benefit coverage includes a stated individual and family deductible, annual benefit maximum, and co-insurance for covered services.
PREFERRED
PROVIDER ORGANIZATION (PPO)
A benefit plan where the member can go to any provider chosen by the member, or the member can go to any one of a number of listed preferred providers and be subject to discounted fees to lower the memberīs co-insurance.
DENTAL HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION (DHMO) MANAGED CARE PLANS
A legal entity that accepts the responsibility of providing services to enrolled members for a fixed monthly premium. Members must seek care through designated providers to whom the members have been assigned, selected, or referred. The member is normally required to pay a fixed copayment for covered services.
DENTI-CAL
A state assistance dental program in California for low-income individuals and their families. Qualified beneficiaries can receive care at no cost for covered services at any enrolled Denti-Cal provider location. Western Dental provides the full range of covered dental care services to Denti-Cal beneficiaries throughout the state at all of its locations.
GOVERNMENT
MANAGED CARE PROGRAMS
In addition to Denti-Cal, the state of California offers various managed care programs for low-income individuals. Western Dental is the largest staff model office provider of dental care to individuals enrolled in Californiaīs managed care programs, and is proud to extend quality dentistry to people who might otherwise find dental care unaffordable.
