ORANGE, Calif. December 11, 2019 – Western Dental & Orthodontics, one of the nation’s leaders in accessible, affordable oral healthcare and the leading orthodontics provider in the country, has teamed up with the NFL Alumni Association-Southern California Chapter to donate more than 600 toys to the Toys for Tots Program.
Western Dental and many of its employees donated the gifts to Toys for Tots, a nonprofit organization run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, which has been distributing toys to children in Southern California since 1947.
About 200 people attended the event Dec. 9 at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. U.S. Marines collected and will distribute the toys just before Christmas.
The NFL Alumni Association-Southern California Chapter has been participating in Toys for Tots for many years. Western Dental, a partner with the Southern California NFL Alumni chapter on charitable activities – including a turkey dinner giveaway just before Thanksgiving – is a first-time Toys for Tots donor.
“Western Dental has become a trusted partner we can count on for our many philanthropic efforts,” said James Washington, President of the Southern California NFL Alumni and a two-time Super Bowl champion as a defensive back with the Dallas Cowboys. “We’re extremely grateful to Western Dental and its employees. Their gifts will bring much happiness to hundreds of children in Southern California this holiday season.”
The National Football League Alumni Association is the oldest, best-known retired player organization in professional sports. Membership includes retired players, coaches, front office executives, spouses and cheerleaders. The Association offers a variety of medical, financial, educational and social programs to its members and their families.
Western Dental is a preferred dental provider for all of the Southern California Alumni Chapter’s members and provides dental services to NFL alumni players and their families, including orthodontics, dental implants, crowns and restorations, and pediatric dentistry. Western Dental is also a partner with the NFL Alumni’s Caring for Kids charity, which raises money and recruits volunteers for youth-related efforts.
