The short answer is yes!

When COVID-19 cases were on the rise over a year ago, the American Dental Association (ADA) put a halt to all routine dental care visits to help prevent the spread of the virus. Since then, offices have adhered to strict ADA and CDC guidelines on infection control.

While dental professionals have always followed strict hygiene protocols, now they have added even more safety measures. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required for all clinicians and staff to protect themselves and patients. Exam chairs, operatories and reception areas are routinely sterilized throughout the day. In fact, a dental office is probably the safest health care provider you can visit.

Your dentist can catch potential problems during a regular exam before they blow up into bigger health issues. That’s why a routine visit is a precaution everyone should take to maintain their overall health.

Dr. Gehani, President of the ADA says it best: “Dentistry is essential health care because of its role in evaluating, diagnosing, preventing or treating oral diseases, which can affect systemic health.”

Bottomline: If you’ve been putting off your routine dental exam, there’s never been a better time to go.
