What you should know about ClearArc® invisible aligners

What are ClearArc® aligners?

Like Invisalign®, which was the first aligner brand on the market, ClearArc® is a removable, virtually invisible solution to straighter teeth. ClearArc®  treatment entails a series of clear, custom-made trays that gradually move your teeth into alignment. ClearArc® aligners are available exclusively at Western Dental and priced 40% less than other leading aligner brands.

How do ClearArc® aligners work?

Aligners are clear plastic trays that snap over your teeth. You wear them for 18-20 hours a day, removing them when you eat and when you brush and floss your teeth. Every 2-3 weeks your orthodontist provides you with new set of aligner trays with a slightly different shape. Your teeth gradually move to their new position over the course of 20 to 30 aligners.

What makes ClearArc® aligners different from other aligners on the market?

Unlike some other aligner brands, ClearArc® aligners straighten all your teeth (not just the front few) and treatment is always overseen by your own qualified, trained orthodontist. In addition, the proprietary ClearWear™ material is crystal clear, stain-resistant and custom-made for contoured fit, reducing the need for multiple attachments and making them extremely comfortable and virtually invisible.

What makes ClearArc® Orthodontic Aligners different from other aligners on the market?

Unlike some other aligner brands, ClearArc® aligners straighten all your teeth (not just the front few) and treatment is always overseen by your own dedicated, licensed orthodontist. In addition, the proprietary ClearWear † material is crystal clear, stain-resistant and custom-trimmed to your gum line, reducing the need for multiple attachments and making them extremely comfortable and virtually invisible.

How long does treatment take?

Depending on the complexity of your case and how often you wear your aligners, you could complete your treatment in as little as 6 months. On average, total treatment time is 9-18 months although most patients start seeing results in a matter of weeks!

What is it like to wear invisible aligners?

ClearArc® aligners are custom-made for optimal, contoured fit, thereby reducing the need for multiple attachments. In addition, the trays are precisely trimmed with silky-smooth edges to ensure maximum comfort. You wear the aligner trays for 18-22 hours a day, removing them only when you eat, brush and floss your teeth.  Approximately every 2 weeks you’ll switch to the next set of custom designed aligners in your treatment plan (each with a slightly different shape). Your teeth gradually move to their new position over the course of treatment.

Why does a licensed orthodontist need to oversee my treatment plan?

Orthodontic treatment is complex biological process. It involves changes in jaw bones, facial bones and soft tissue as teeth are moved into their new positions. A good bite makes it easier for you to chew and speak. Orthodontists must complete an orthodontic residency program for 2-3 years after completing 3-4 years of dental school. It’s in this residency program that orthodontists receive intensive instruction to learn proper, safe tooth movement and the guidance of dental, jaw and facial development. These extra years of schooling make them experts in moving teeth and aligning jaws. This is the only focus of their practice. Western Dental is the #1 provider of orthodontics in the U.S.††

How often will I need to visit my orthodontist?

Your orthodontist will schedule regular appointments, usually about once every 8 to 12 weeks. The goal of these visits is to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned and you get the best possible results.

Can’t I just straighten my teeth at home with a mail order kit?

Orthodontic treatment involves the movement of biological material, which if not done correctly could lead to potentially irreversible and expensive damage such as tooth and gum loss, changed bites, and other issues.

Am I a good candidate for ClearArc®?

ClearArc® aligners can correct a lot of orthodontic problems, particularly less severe spacing and alignment issues. The trays are especially good for re-aligning teeth in adults who wore braces as a child but didn’t wear a retainer for as long as prescribed. During the initial consultation, your orthodontist can quickly determine if ClearArc® is right for you.

What does ClearArc® cost?

ClearArc® costs 60% less than traditional braces and almost half as much as other aligner brands. Plus, we’re flexible, so you pay your way.

What’s the ClearArc® treatment process?

Step 1: Expert Consult.

Schedule a free consult with one of our licensed orthodontists located near you. He/She will do a complete survey of your mouth’s structure - including jaw, teeth and bite – to determine if you’re a candidate for ClearArc®.

Step 2: Impressions & X-Rays.

Once approved for treatment, your orthodontist will take photographs, 3-D image and digital x-rays of your teeth. He/She will also take an impression of your bite that the lab will use to make your custom ClearArc® Orthodontic Aligners. If needed, he/she will refer you to a dentist on site to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy.

Step 3: Begin Transformation!

Approximately 3-4 weeks after impressions are taken, your aligner trays will arrive at your orthodontist’s office. Unlike traditional braces which can require several hours of chair time to adhere to teeth, custom-made aligner trays typically just pop right in so appointments are usually fast and easy.

Step 4: Progress Perfection.

Your orthodontist will want to check your progress every couple of months to ensure your perfect smile is on track. During these visits you may receive the next sets of aligners in your treatment plan.
