Not only does the food your child eats affect their dental health, but their eating habits can contribute to cavities, too. Check out these healthy eating tips that help your kids’ teeth stay cavity-free, too:

  • Eating habits affect tooth health. Kids should snack no more than three times a day.
  • Stick foods like candy, raisins, organic fruit strips, and gummy vitamins stick to teeth and are difficult to wash away.
  • Skip baby food in pouches, which is often high in sugar, and is more likely to sit on a child's teeth before being washed away, recommends Dr. Francisco Ramos-Gomez, director of the UCLA Center for Children's Oral Health1

With any foods, it’s always a good idea to brush your child’s teeth after they eat to minimize the chance of cavities forming. Can’t get to the brush right away? Have them swish and rinse with water after each snack to increase their chances of keeping a healthy smile!
